Andy Nelson |
Andy has been teaching in Albany since 1996. Eight of those years he was the band director at both North Albany Middle School and West Albany High School. He is now full time at NAMS. Prior to teaching in Albany, he taught grades 5 - 12 bands in Weiser, Idaho. Other professional experience includes: Past Chair of Oregon Music Educators Association District XI; Clinician/judge for several area band and solo festivals; Symphonic Band Director at “Northwest Middle School Band Camp at Twin Rocks.” Andy has a Bachelor of Music Education (BMuEd) from the University of Oregon. American Band College at Southern Oregon University attendee 2 summers. He is married to his wife, Colleen, and they have two children; Alyssa, age 9, and Ryan, age 7. He plays saxophone and clarinet in various bands around the mid-valley including the Heartland Big Band, The Albany Swing Band, and The Blowholes. He also plays piano regularly at the United Presbyterian Church in downtown Albany. |

LeAnn Wind |
LeAnn teaches Choir, Drama and Computers at North Albany Middle School. After spending many years teaching elementary music, she made the move to middle school and has never looked back. She has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, and a Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has lived in Albany for all her life. She grew up on a dairy farm in North Albany and still lives on the farm next to her parents with her husband, Jim, and 2 sons, Hunter and Tanner. She also plays the piano, and accompanies one of the Heart of the Valley Children's Choirs, and leads worship at the Nazarene Church in Albany. Other than singing with Opus 7, she also sings with the Albany Swing Band, and enjoys singing at many local functions. She loves to play softball in the summer and is learning how to golf. |
